Kia will debut a wholly redesigned Sportage in 2023. The fifth generation, or 2023 Kia Sportage, is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Sorento and the Kia Tucson. Therefore, Kia made the new Sportage longer by 7.1 inches in length and 3.4 inches in wheelbase compared to the outgoing model. The Sportage’s exterior dimensions have grown to differentiate itself from the Selto and provide more interior space, especially in the rear. According to Kia, cargo space in the new Sportage is a class-leading 39.6 cubic feet. When it first goes on sale, buyers must choose between a single powertrain option consisting of a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine with an estimated 187 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
